The power of the desert and its impressive stone colors will make you take more than one photo! Approximately 100 kilometers from Calama, the world's driest desert jealously hides a small oasis called San Pedro de Atacama. It's an adobe town with dirt streets that has stolen the hearts of thousands of tourists with the charms of Atacameño and Spanish culture contained in each of its buildings.
Half-Day Excursion: Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley)
Semi-Private Service
On this half-day excursion through otherworldly landscapes, we will witness a spectacular sunset that makes the Atacama Desert the most romantic tourist destination in South America. In the middle of the Cordillera de la Sal, we will find the Moon Valley, with its rock formations resembling natural sculptures and the salt mantle covering its originally reddish lands. There, we will witness the action of wind erosion on the hills and dunes, which has given way to peculiar figures that, thanks to light effects, take on different appearances. While walking its trails to reach Tres Marías, the valley's largest dune, we can take photos simulating lunar landscapes. Furthermore, on the way to Victoria, the old salt mine, we will see grottoes with stalactites and enjoy a striking view of the region's volcanoes. The grand finale is the privileged view from the Kari viewpoint over the Moon Valley. From there, we will watch the sunset paint the Moon Valley and the San Pedro Valley with color.

Full-Day Excursion – Geyser del TatioSemi-Private ServiceJust as the first rays of sun appear, we will depart to discover an area known for its intense volcanic activity: El Tatio, "the weeping grandfather," the largest group of geysers in the southern hemisphere, and the third largest in the world! The road there will be the perfect excuse to discover the biodiversity of the Machuca and Putana wetlands, and to visit the traditional highland village of Machuca. From the Putana Vado viewpoint, we can admire the wetlands, one of the richest ecosystems of the Altiplano, home to species in a vulnerable state of conservation, such as the puma. It is also a very attractive place for bird watching. At 4,000 meters above sea level, we will find Machuca, a small town of stone, mud, and straw that will transport us back in time. There, we will also have a marvelous view of the wetlands, where herders bring their herds of llamas and sheep to graze. The Tatio Geysers will be our goal. The waters that infiltrate from the mountain range and reach this area create a spectacle upon contact with the hot underground rocks: steam jets shooting up to 10 meters high. After our tour, we will be ready to enjoy breakfast in an area near the Tatio geothermal field with a wonderful view of its fumaroles.
